The Suicide Squad.

 

Props + Weapon Design

From ancient javelins to magic wands, Cunningham designed over a dozen props for the James Gunn directed action-comedy starring Margot Robie, John Cena and Idris Elba.

Control Board.

 

Amanda Waller, played by Viola Davis, uses the Case to selectively eliminate squad members who deviate from the mission plan. 3D models created by Cunningham were used for prototyping.

Captain Boomerang.

 

The weapon of choice for the Eponymous Australian member of the squad. Several visual directions and scales were explored before Cunningham finalized the geometry for fabrication.

Javelin.

 

The weapon of choice for the Eponymous Scandanavian member of the squad. The script called for an ancient javelin, which Cunningham conceptualized as having existed in numerous epochs, with successive layers of metallurgy and identifiable motifs.

Peacemaker.

 

Played by John Cena, Cunningham designed all of Peacemaker’s weapons. Whats becoming a right of passage for professional wrestler’s entering Hollywood action films, as Cunningham also designed Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnsons weapons in G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Ratcatcher 2.

 

Ratcatcher 2 uses a technological, rat-controlling wand which she inherited from her father Ratcatcher the first.

Polkadot Man.

 

In the films prison, Polka-Dot Man wears a restraint collar and power inhibitor, ultimately designed by Tim Flattery, Cunningham provided around 50 proposals.

Mongal.

 

Mongal was an alien warrior from the planet Warworld , she wields a set of Tomfa Blades designed by Cunningham.
